OIL CHANGE SERVICE FAQ
Since oil change service is the most frequent service you’ll need to have taken care of for your car, it only makes sense that you’d have some questions about getting your oil changed. Thankfully, our team here at Moritz Chevrolet has all of the answers you need!
What Does Car Oil Do?
Oil is one of the most important fluids for your car. It prevents wear and allows for smooth and efficient operation by lubricating your car’s engine parts.
What Kind of Oil Does My Car Need?
Not all types of car oil are the same and not every Chevy car will take all kinds of car oil. Be sure to check your owner’s manual to see which type of oil your car requires. In general, we recommend synthetic oil since it breaks down more slowly and provides better lubrication.
How Often Does My Car Need An Oil Change?
In general, most cars will need to have their oil changed about every 3,000 miles. As your car drives, the oil supply will break down and diminish, robbing it of the lubrication it needs to perform at its best. Even if you aren’t driving your car very much, oil still breaks down, so be sure to get your oil changed about every three months.
